11/16 History as a giant data set: how analysing the past could help save the future ; 過去の歴史をデータベースとして未来を論理的に読むことが出来るか
欧米先進国に見る最近のポピュリズム（大衆主義）は歴史の流れからみると必然的な現象と思うことが出来る。ベルリンの壁崩壊から30年資本主義経済の発展を振り返るとそのように思えてならない。文明の歴史を論理的に考えてみることは大切なことと思う。未来への変革を論理的に予想していく事も必要。ビッグ・データの中から数学的なアプローチでこれを導くことはできるのかもしれない。
ハラリ著”サピエンス全史”は人類の進化を論理的に捉えた歴史書として推奨されます。
Turchin’s approach to history, which uses software to find patterns in massive amounts of historical data, has only become possible recently, thanks to the growth in cheap computing power and the development of large historical datasets. This “big data” approach is now becoming increasingly popular in historical disciplines.
Harari’s book ” A Brief History of Humankind” is well recommended to read in this partyicular regards.
